ChiaoGoo Combo Sets: Best of both worlds?

ChiaoGoo Combo Sets are the younger sibling to the fantastic ChiaoGoo Shorties sets and allow you to customise the length of your circular needles to suit you project. 

Gloves, hats, socks, sleeves, in fact practically any project that you would usually use DPNs for.

Each Combo set comes with:

• 1 x Pair 3" (7.5mm) tips
• 1 x Pair 2" (5mm) tips
• 1 x 5" (13cm) Cable
• 1 x 6" (15cm) Cable
• 2 x Cable Keys

Depending on how you make up the circular, you can get 4 lengths of circular from 9" (23cm) to 12" (30cm).

Each Combo set is a specific size of needle ranging from 1.5mm to 5mm

Asymmetric Circular

Attaching a 2" and 3" tip to a cable gives an asymmetric circular. This isn't just a rebellious way of knitting, but an alternative way to knit your project. Typically the short tip is used to collect the stitches and the long tip to work them through. As the moving tip is longer, it gives a lot more control of your knitting.

Are they compatible with my existing ChiaoGoo Interchangeables?

Simple answer to that is yes. The connectors are Mini [M] for needles sizes 1.5 to 3.25mm and Small [S] for needle sizes 3.5mm to 5mm.

I recognise the red TWIST cable, but what is the blue cable?

The blue cables are called X-Flex and come with Small [S] sized Combos. X-Flex cables are just like TWIST Small [S] cables but come with an extra bit of bend to get around those tight corners.
