Description

April Gopwani’s Rise and Set Blanket is inspired by the warm tones of the rising and setting sun. The pattern uses a colorwork chart to create the beautiful circular sun motif. The fringing details add movement and additional texture.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Luma (50% Merino wool, 25% organic cotton, 15% linen, 10% silk, 125 m (137 yd) per 50 g hank) – 11 hanks.

The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank) – 2 hanks.

Construction notes:
The Blanket is worked in rows of double crochet, following a Chart for the color changes over the central ‘sun’ portion. Chart is worked from bottom up, and each square represents 1 dc stitch. Read RS rows from right to left, and WS rows from left to right. Change color mid-row in the last yoh of the previous st.

Buttercup (C) is held doubled throughout.

For the lower half of the blanket and yarns A and B, the three-row color repeat means that you will need to fasten off each yarn after the color change. For the upper half, carry the yarn up the side of the work.

Sizes and measurements:
118 cm (46.5 in) long and 80 cm (31.5 in) wide
