Drift off to sleep with your feet swaddled in warmth! The Chunky Comfort Hearth Socks have big, luscious cables on the top and are made with a loose fit which is just perfect for sleeping.

Single-ply &Make Super Bulky is the perfect yarn for these socks, offering 100% natural Highland wool for great warmth and comfort in a brilliant array of colors. The socks are worked top-down from the cuff to the toe using a magic loop technique. Cast on with your favorite color and enjoy this fun and invigorating project!

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. &Make Super Bulky (100% Highland wool, 80 m (87 yd) per 100 g ball) in shade Serious Shade – 2 balls.

Please note: if you are making the socks for someone with very large feet and need more than 25 cm (10 in) for your foot length, purchasing a third ball is recommended.

Construction notes:

The Chunky Comfort Hearth Socks are worked top down from cuff to toe using the Magic Loop technique. The cuffs start with a Long Tail Tubular Cast-On and then worked in 2x2 ribbing. The front of the leg and foot are worked in a cable pattern, and the backs in Stockinette Stitch. This pattern includes a heel flap and gusset construction and closed with Kitchener Stitch.

Recommended ease:

Designed with an oversized fit.

Gauge:

11 stitches and 16 rounds to 10 cm (4 in) measured over Stockinette Stitch after blocking using your main needles.
