Description
Add warmth and a touch of zing to your outfit! The Kyria Shawl is a two-color, asymmetrical triangle shawl that offers stunning visual interest with its mosaic, zigzag, slipped-stitch pattern, and is just big enough for wrapping over your shoulders on cool days or evenings.
Don’t let its vibrant appearance fool you—this is a simple knit that’s worked from the tip to the border. It’s made in Cumbria Fingering, a blend of fine Merino, English Masham wool, and Argentinian mohair—resulting in a soft but strong fabric with wonderfully heathered shades. The two contrasting colors work to bring this design to life, so have fun choosing your favorites and enjoy this fun knit!
Yarn:
The Fibre Co. Cumbira Fingering (60% Merino wool, 30% Masham wool, 10% mohair, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in shades Helvellyn (A) – 1 hank and Derwentwater (B) – 1 hank.
Construction notes:
The perfect accessory to wear around your neck for the warming days of spring, this lovely shawl is also big enough to wrap on your shoulders for the cooler evenings. Kyria is a simple, fun shawl worked from the tip to the border, with an interesting slipped-stitch pattern. The rows in this shawl follow a 4-row general pattern, where all stitches except for the edge stitches and those stitches being slipped get worked.
