Description

Treat yourself to the stylish comfort of the Pelagic Cowl! Also found on our Pelagic Cardigan, the undulating stitches bring lapping ocean waves to mind

In addition to warmth, this cowl will also round out your outfit with texture and polish.

Worked bottom-up in the round, the Pelagic Cowl is made with Tundra, a bulky weight blend of fine Merino wool, baby alpaca, and silk that will provide lightweight warmth and a bouncy, soft fabric. Cast on your favorite color and get started on this lovely accessory—akin to its wavelike stitch pattern, this cowl will be a rhythmic, enjoyable project to knit.

Yarn:

The Fibre Co. Tundra (60% baby alpaca, 30% Merino wool, 10% silk, 109 m (120 yd) per 100 g hank) in shade Fairhaven Fjord – 2 hanks.

Construction notes:

This cowl is worked bottom-up in the round. The first few rows are worked flat to make it easier to join. It uses a Backwards Loop Cast-On and Tubular Bind-Off, and the Traveling Rib stitch pattern creates a wavy edge. The cast-on is done using waste yarn, which later gets removed once a few rows have been worked, leaving a neat edge.
